I made that day of the dead card using special paper. The paper has a black coating over a multi colored background. You use a tool (comes with the paper) to scratch off the black coating, and the colors show underneath. Some papers have different colors underneath, and some are white underneath. I think I recently saw some at Target in the art supply section, but they also have it at craft stores or art supply stores. Its really fun to use.
